OEM vs. Aftermarket: Making the Right Call for Your CASE Equipment (And When 'Good Enough' Isn't)

And here's a final thought. The vendor who tells you 'this isn't our strength—here's who does it better'? That's a vendor you trust. If your aftermarket guy tries to sell you a universal part for a main hydraulic pump on a 300 HP tractor, run the other way. Knowing the limits of your fix is part of the job.

As of early 2025, the price gap between OEM and aftermarket has shrunk a bit on common items, but it's still there. My advice? Use sites like CASE's official parts portal or a trusted local dealer for a baseline price. Then decide if the gamble is worth it. For me, 9 times out of 10 when the machine is down and the billable hours are ticking, I'm going with the part that has a brick-and-mortar dealer behind it.
